Eligibility
You must meet the below criteria to be eligible to apply for the Chair role
The Chair of Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust will be appointed on terms designed to reflect the significance and responsibility of the role.
Qualification for appointment as a non-executive director.
A person may be appointed as a non-executive director only if they are a member of a Public Constituency. The Public Constituencies are:
- Bassetlaw (Bassetlaw District Council or any successor organisation)
- Doncaster (City of Doncaster (or any successor organisation)
- Rest of England and Wales (Any other electoral area in England and Wales with the exception of the above
The following may not become or continue as a member of the Trust Board:
- a person who has been adjudged bankrupt or whose estate has been sequestrated and (in either case) has not been discharged;
- a person who has made a composition or arrangement with, or granted a trust deed for, their creditors and who has not been discharged in respect of it;
- a person who within the preceding five years has been convicted in the British Islands of any offence if a sentence of imprisonment (whether suspended or not) for a period of not less than three months (without the option of a fine) was imposed on them;
- a person who does not satisfy all of the ‘fit and proper person’ requirements set out in regulation 5(3) of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014;
- The Regulator has exercised its powers to remove them as a director of the Trust or has suspended them from office or has disqualified them from holding office as a director of the Trust for a specified period or the Regulator has exercised any of those powers in relation to them on any other occasion whether in relation to the Trust or some other NHS foundation trust or
- a person who falls within the further grounds for disqualification set out in Annex 6.
