Description

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH) is one of Yorkshire’s leading acute Trusts, serving a population of more than 440,000 people through three main hospital sites and a dedicated workforce of over 7,300 colleagues. We are proud to be a Teaching Hospital, training 25% of the region’s medical students and playing a major role in shaping the future NHS workforce.

We are entering into an exciting new chapter under the leadership of our Interim Chief Executive, Dr Richard Jenkins, who remains Chief Executive of provider Trusts in both Barnsley and Rotherham. Richard’s appointment creates further opportunities for us to deepen our partnerships and collaboration across South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

As Chair of our Board and Council of Governors, you will provide inclusive and effective leadership, ensuring that the Trust is well governed, strategically focused and accountable for delivering high-quality, safe and sustainable services.

We are seeking an experienced, values-led, and inclusive leader with a strong track record of board level experience in complex, regulated, and people centred environments. Comfortable operating in a complex stakeholder environment, you will bring a track record of leading strategy, transformation and continuous improvement, and the ability to hold senior leaders to account for delivery and outcomes. Politically astute, enabling and highly collaborative, you will quickly build constructive relationships with partners across our wider health and care system.

Above all, you will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to patients and colleagues, equality and inclusion, public service and the values of the NHS, personally modelling the DBTH Way as we strive to realise our vision for the future.

As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applicants from all sectors of the community, particularly from under-represented groups including those with disabilities, members of our ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ+ communities.
